Members of Milab participated in the Open Day of the NextGen Digital Activation Track of Tencent's "Explore Yuan" Program
From August 31st to September 1st, 2026, the Tencent NextGen Digital Revitalization Track Open Day was held at Yunju Temple in Fangshan District, Beijing. The event, themed "Digital Coexistence, Civilization Reconstruction - Opportunities, Challenges, and Future of Digital Revitalization of Cultural Heritage", was hosted by Tencent SSV and Tencent Research Institute, and co-hosted by the Cultural Relics Management Office of Yunju Temple in Fangshan District, Beijing, the Cultural Industry Research Institute of Peking University, and the Social Value Investment Alliance (Shenzhen). Experts from various fields gathered with six co-creation project teams to explore the path of cultural heritage revitalization driven by AI.

On August 31st, six co-creation projects presented their phased achievements. Prior to this, leaders from the Cultural Relics Management Office of Yunju Temple in Fangshan District, Beijing, the Cultural Industry Research Institute of Peking University, and Tencent Research Institute delivered speeches successively. Following that, the Tencent SSV Digital Culture Lab introduced the co-creation direction of the Tanyuan Plan. On September 1st, the open day entered the workshop co-creation session, where discussions were held around three parallel topics: "Cultural Decoding and Interpretation", "Experience Renewal and Interaction", and "Skill Activation and Inheritance". Professor Yuan Xiaoru, Executive Deputy Director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data Analysis and Application Technology at Peking University, Liu Jianghong, Vice Dean of the School of Cultural Industry Management at Communication University of China, and Professor Xiang Yong, Dean of the Cultural Industry Research Institute at Peking University, respectively, reported the results as representatives of the guiding expert group. The three groups engaged in in-depth discussions on common topics such as how to build a knowledge system and how AI can assist in cultural understanding and industrial paradigm transformation, as well as individual optimization topics for each project, forming a series of consensuses and implementation paths.
